HISTORY OF THE TOP FLITE JUNIOR TOUR

The Tournament series began in 1984 as the 7-Eleven tournaments from the vision of Tour Founder Larry Martin. 7-Eleven was the title sponsor for the first ten years of the tournament series. The Top Flite Golf Company then assumed sponsorship in 1994 and has been the sponsor ever since. The 2008 season marks the 25th "Silver Anniversary"year of the tournament series and Top Flite’s 15th year as title sponsor.

In order for Callaway Golf to continue as the sponsor and for the tour to be successful, it is imperative that the juniors and their families support Callaway Golf and its products; Top Flite, Callaway, Ben Hogan, and Odyssey. With their help The Callaway Golf Company can be a successful sponsor for many years to come.

The purpose of the Top Flite Junior Tour Tournament Series is to provide junior golfers with an affordable tournament golf experience that they will remember and cherish for the rest of their lives. Past participants and Champions of The Top Flite Junior Tour include: Tim Fisher – Past West Virginia Amateur Champion; Ken Tackett – The Executive Director of the West Virginia Golf Association; Pat Carter - 12 time West Virginia Amateur Champion; Stephanie Sparks - Current Host on The Golf Channel; Anthony Reale – 2007 West Virginia Amateur Champion, as well as several Collegiate Student Athletes and golf professionals in West Virginia and surrounding states.

The West Virginia PGA would like to thank the many volunteers and sponsors who over the years have made the Junior Tour what it is today. Without their help the Tour would not have grown to what it is today.
